The Isle of Skye is a great location for salmon and trout fishing and its mainly spate rivers attract anglers from all over the country. Portree Angling Association has access to beats on the Snizort, Lealt, Kilmartin, Ose, Amer, Kilmaluag and Brogaig rivers. Salmon catches in 2010 were the best for many years. The season runs from 15th March until mid October and whilst fair means can be used on some rivers, the fly is the preferred method of fishing.
